This project focused on transforming a bright bay-fronted living room into a warm and inviting space, balancing softness with structure while making the most of the natural light.
A gentle colour palette was introduced using Sulking Room Pink by Farrow & Ball, applied across both the walls and bespoke shelving. This creates a seamless backdrop, adding warmth and a delicate sense of character that shifts beautifully throughout the day.
The existing alcove shelving was enhanced with a compact built-in TV unit, making the most of the available space where standard furniture would not fit. Above the fireplace, a round mirror softens the lines of the room and reflects light from the bay window, reinforcing the sense of space.
Given the proximity of the window to the pavement, half-height shutters were introduced to provide privacy without sacrificing natural light. This allows the room to remain bright while creating a more comfortable and enclosed feel.
Furniture was carefully selected from accessible, high-street sources, ensuring the space feels both stylish and achievable. A mix of soft upholstery and warm wood tones complements the palette, adding texture and comfort without overwhelming the room.
The result is a calm and welcoming living space—layered, balanced, and designed for everyday comfort.
